Faculty
The Sterling College Education Program offers a major in Elementary Education and is responsible for all secondary education certification programs offered through Sterling College. Education Department faculty work with faculty from other departments to plan certification programs that will meet Kansas State Board of Education standards for accreditation.
The Education Program is responsible for several groups and resources. Education faculty serve as facilitators for two groups who provide guidance for the certification programs, the Advisory Council and Teacher Education Committee. Other Program responsibilities include development of curriculum materials, certification, student education organization, and scholarships for education students. The Program is affiliated with two educational consortiums, the Associated Colleges of Central Kansas (ACCK) and Educational Services and Staff Development Association of Central Kansas (ESSDACK), which provide educational opportunities to faculty and students.
