Brazelton Named KCAC Player of the Week
Wichita, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has named Sterling College's Cody Brazelton, a junior from Tuttle, Oklahoma, KCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance Sterling's two conference games this past week. On the week, Brazelton averaged 19.0 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game. During the week, Sterling defeated Friends University 87-57 and Kansas Wesleyan University 67-59.
In the home game against preseason KCAC favorite Friends University, Brazelton led Warriors with 14 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 60% from the field.
On Saturday, Brazelton came up big again for Sterling. At Kansas Wesleyan, Brazelton scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds in a come from behind win over the Coyotes. Brazelton's presence was also felt on the defensive end of the floor as he blocked three shots and had two steals in the game.
Sterling went 2-0 on the week and is currently tied for second in the KCAC with a 4-2 conference record. The Warriors will be in action again on Thursday at 8:00pm when they host the Ottawa University Braves at the Gleason Center in Sterling.
