Erin began working at SC in the fall of 2007. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Education from Northcentral University. She and her husband Wes just welcomed their first child, Avery, to their family in December 2012.

With career goals that could be met all in one place, Pete found himself happily working at Sterling College as the Program Director of the Athletic Training Program. Pete finds himself loving Sterling for the reason that, "It's all about the people. I am passionate about my students and take pride in the "Family" created at SC in our ATEP." Pete was named NAIA ATA Athletic Trainer of the Year for the 2010-2011 academic year and is currently the President of the NAIA ATA Board. He loves working with the faculty and staff that are such an incredible support group. Pete enjoys many activities in his free time including music, reading, eating out, and BBQ-ing out with friends. His hometown is Lebanon, KS.
Sports Information Director; Pro Rata Assistant Professor of Sports Management
Nickel is a former Sterling College student and also has experience working for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. "I have a passion for sport management and specifically sport PR and sport marketing," said Nickel. "I am excited not only to practice my passion but to share it with students. This is an opportunity to be both on the practical and the educational sides of the sport management field." He is in charge of programs, releases, game reports, newsletters and, of course, all Web details related to athletics. He also has some short-term projects.
Mary was an instructor in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. She has been a coach for volleyball, basketball, and softball. In 1986 she was inducted into the NWC Athletic Hall of Fame. From 1989-2005 she has the head volleyball coach of Sterling College. She was awarded 10 AVCA Team Academic Awards, lead her team to two KCAC championship victories (1994 and 1997), two-time KCAC coach of the Year, and won the McCreery Teaching Award in 2001.
