Andy was born and raised in Liberal, KS. He has four brothers and one step sister. He attended Sterling College and was active with the worship teams and choir. After college he spent three years in Wichita, KS where he worked at a daycare/preschool and worked as a substitute teacher for USD 260 and 259 (Derby and Wichita). Thre rest of his time was spent playing rugby. In the future Andy would like to travel the world and help people and eventually open his own orphanage in the states.
Originally from California, Naiya graduated from Sterling College in 2008. After graduation she served with an urban ministry in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado. Her time in Denver helped prepare her for ministry and leadership with women. She has served as the Evans Hall Resident Director since fall of 2011 and enjoys living out daily life with the women of the dorm. Naiya enjoys laughter, hiking, missions, and learning about the world around her.
Scott is the young gun of Student Life. He recently graduated from Sterling College in the spring of 2013 with a BFA in Communications and a minor in marketing. During his time at Sterling, he met his wife Rebecca and they were married on June 16, 2013. As a student, Scott was passionate about Campbell Hall, the dorm he is now the Resident Director of. He lived in Campbell all four years and was a Resident Assistant in the basement of Campbell for two years.
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach; Assistant Resident Director (Kilbourn Hall)
Cecil Smart is in his 3rd year as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for the Sterling College Warriors. His primary duties include coaching the junior varsity team, recruiting, and coordinating the strength and conditioning program for the Warriors. He is a Sterling College graduate, having played for Coach Jaderston at both Trinity International and also at Sterling, where he was a member of the 2009 KCAC conference championship team.
John Summitt is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministry with an emphasis in Missions, and a minor in Business Administration. He is the Resident Director of the Douglas Residences, and comes to Sterling College with a heart to see students grow in Christ, in life, and in joy. He and his lovely wife Tiffany just welcomed their first child, Emily, at the beginning of the 2013/2014 school year, and are looking forward to seeing her grow into her Sterling family!
