Sterling College's Homecoming musical, Pirates of Penzance, will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 7-9, at 8 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium. Tickets are available through the Sterling College box office and can be reserved by calling 620-278-4279. Box Office hours are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. October 4-8 and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 7-9. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students/children/seniors 65 and over. Reservations not paid for by 7:50 p.m. on the night of the reservation will be subject to release for general sale.
Two Sterling College Alumni were honored for their significant contributions to their profession and community at the 2012 Alumni Banquet held on Oct. 20. Josh Slaughter ’06 was awarded the Young Alumni Award for excellence in the field of journalism and helping youth in the town in which he lives. 
An observant visitor to the College will notice “Established 1887” banners around campus and note the institution is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. The College is using annual events and special occasions to emphasize the legacy created through professors, staff, alumni and friends of the College.
Sterling College’s homecoming musical, Children of Eden, will take place in Culbertson Auditorium, October 13-15, at 8:00 p.m. on the Sterling College campus. This musical is noteworthy as it is the last musical production by the Gordon Kling and Diane De Franco-Kling as they are retiring at the end of the academic year.
