Two Lady Warrior Golfers Finish in Top Ten at Dodge City

Dodge City, Kan. – Both Sterling College Lady Warrior Golfers that competed in the Dodge City Invitational on Monday and Tuesday finished in the top 10. Katelynn Cantrell finished in 5th while Alexa Pelton finished in 7th. Sterling did not field enough golfers to score as a team.

Cantrell finished the tournament with a 182, shooting a 90 in the first round and a 92 in the second round. The 182 was one shot shy of being tied for 3rd and 12 shots shy of the winner.

Warrior Golf Competes in McPherson

McPherson, Kan. – The Sterling College Warrior Golf Team competed at the Central Christian Fall Invite in McPherson, Kansas on Monday and Tuesday, finishing with a final team score of 647. Sterling’s score was good enough for the team to finish seventh in the tournament out of ten teams. Stephen Austin was the only Warrior to finish in the top 15 out of the 53 golfer field. Austin finished in 11th.

Warrior Athletic Golf Tournament set for June, 21, 2010

The Warrior Athletic Association announced that the Warrior Wood & Wedge golf tournament will once again be held again at the Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. This athletic fundraiser will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010.

The Warrior Athletic Association is designed to advance Sterling College athletics by strengthening the athletic budget to help meet needs in all our sports programs.

Pelton Finishes in Top Ten

Edmond, Okla. – Sterling College’s Alexa Pelton finished tenth at the Women’s Independent Conference Tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma on Monday and Tuesday with a two round total of 177. Also competing in the tournament for the Lady Warriors was Katelynn Cantrell, Cassie Spliess, and Katie McGrath. SC finished seventh in the final team standings.

Ottawa, Kan. - Sterling College senior, Jake Bowser, won the Ottawa University Fall Invitational this past Monday and Tuesday at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, KS. Bowser was the leader after a 1-under par 69. His solid second round play led to a 2-over par 72, which gave him a one shot victory. "This is Jake's first college victory. Warriors Win Home Invitational

Sterling, Kan. - The Sterling College Warrior golf team captured first place at their home tournament Monday and Tuesday, October 11-12 at Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, KS.
