Foster Family Program

The Foster Family Program was created with the mission of helping new students better adjust to Sterling College life. The service is available for new students, but is not manditory.

Foster families are Sterling College faculty/staff and community members who have a desire to be the student's home away from home. These families open their homes for the students in a variety of ways (i.e. meals, free laundry, attend church together, attend college activities, etc.).

New students will have an opportunity to sign up for a foster family in the first month of attending Sterling College.  There will be several social events on-campus to get the foster family and college student together in the fall semester.

Community Members:

  • Would you like to provide a college student a home away from home?
  • Would you like to get to know students from a different part of the state or country?
  • Would you like to provide a "home-cooked" meal once in awhile?
  • Would you enjoy having a college student spend time with your family?

If you said yes, you may be interested in serving as a foster family for college student(s).

The Student Life Office organizes a Foster Family Program for new students who may be missing their family while they are away at Sterling College. If you would like to be paired up with a student or students from the college, please click here and fill out the form:
