Sterling College students attend National Prayer Breakfast | February 27, 2015

Sterling College students Fayola Oyatayo of Princeton, Texas, and Tennissa Williams of Wichita, Kansas, were among an elite group of college students that traveled to the 63rd National Prayer Breakfast earlier this month. Roughly two percent of the 3,600 National Prayer Breakfast attendees were invited to attend the event that took place in Washington, D.C., and Annapolis, Maryland, on Feb. 5-8, 2015.

Bechard selected as Teacher of Promise | February 27, 2015

Senior Darsha Bechard of Belleville, Kansas, joined her future co-workers at the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network State Education Conference on February 19-20 in Topeka to learn from top educators across the country. Named a spring Teacher of Promise by the Sterling College Teacher Education Program, Bechard met the criteria of integrity, dependability, effective communication, appropriate attitude and leadership along with excellent academic achievement.

Sterling College Freeman Lecture Series on March 6, featuring Danny Wuerffel | February 25, 2015

The Freeman Lecture Series will feature speaker Danny Wuerffel on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Sterling College. The former Heisman Trophy winner will address students, employees and guests of the College in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. The Freeman Lecture Series seeks to educate individuals on the various values and applications of leadership by highlighting the servant leadership attributes present in others.

Sterling College students gather supplies for ICT S.O.S. | February 25, 2015

Students on Sterling College Ministry Teams have spent the year supporting local organizations who care for victims of human trafficking. This month, Ministry Teams asked their classmates to provide items for Fresh Start Bags, a ministry of Wichita-based organization ICT S.O.S. The bags are filled with personal hygiene items, new clothing, a comfort item and a fast food gift card.
