Pre-med students intern at Sterling Medical Center | April 4, 2013

Five students in Sterling College’s pre-med program have taken advantage of a collaboration between the College and the Sterling Medical Center to team up with physicians in the community to better understand the roles and responsibilities of physicians.

Track Serves City of Joplin | April 3, 2013

The Warriors Track and Field team traveled to Joplin, Mo., over their spring break to help with the continued clean up and rebuilding efforts from the 2011 tornado that killed 161 people and left a trail of destruction over 22 miles long.

Warrior Baseball No. 23 in First NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll | March 28, 2013
The Warriors were ranked No. 1 in the KCAC going into preseason.

Sterling College is ranked No. 23 in the first edition of the 2013 NAIA Baseball Coaches Poll.  The poll was released Tuesday, March 26. The Warriors, the KCAC preseason number one, were ranked 15th in the Baseball Coaches' preseason poll, released on November 13.

Sterling currently sits atop the KCAC standings at 8-0, they hold an overall record of 23-6 and are undefeated (10-0) at home this season.  The Warriors are currently riding a 16 games winning streak dating back to March 2. 

Fourth annual Love Sterling to take place April 27 | March 28, 2013

Hundreds of volunteers will paint, plant, sweep and clean around town to show love and gratitude for the community of Sterling on Saturday, April 27. Love Sterling began in 2010 as a way for the students, faculty and staff of Sterling College to give back to the community. By 2012, the event grew to over 250 volunteers, including members of the community, who dedicated 1,100 hours of service to complete 25 projects.

Conard presents biology research at WSU | March 27, 2013

Based on his ongoing research at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge, Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Jonathan Conard gave a research seminar on Feb. 4 at Wichita State University. His seminar was titled "Patterns of Association Between White-Tailed Deer: Assessing the Potential for Chronic Wasting Disease Transmission."

Students interact with author via Google+ | March 27, 2013

With advancements in technology, there are more opportunities for creative teaching methods in the classroom. Professor of Theology and Ministry Dr. Henry Lederle took advantage of the possibilities that technology provides by inviting the author of a book used in his Intro to Missions class to interact with the students through Google+ Hangout, a video chat and conference service.

Warrior Football leads KCAC in academics | March 26, 2013

The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) is pleased to announce 82 football student-athletes that have been named 2012 KCAC Scholar-Athletes. Sterling College led the way with 18 student athletes named to the group.

Debate team takes first at JV Nationals | March 22, 2013

The debate and forensics team had a busy spring break at the JV Nationals Tournament hosted by Hutchinson Community College from March 8-10. The team took first place in each individual debate event, leading them to capture first overall and defend their JV nationals champion title from 2012. The tournament was open for all students in their first or second year of collegiate competition.

Future educators interview for teaching positions | March 21, 2013

Teacher candidates from Associated Colleges of Central Kansas schools met with potential future employers from across the state at Sterling College on March 7 for the annual ACCK Teacher Interview Day. The event was hosted by Sterling College for the first time in six years and 71 representatives from 45 school districts attended the event to interview teacher candidates.

Chorale to perform at UPC on Mar. 24 | March 21, 2013

The Sterling College Chorale and Highland Singers will give their final performance of the annual spring break choir tour titled “From the Windy State to the Windy City” on Sunday, March 24. The concert will take place at the Sterling United Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
