Sterling College recently announced Rev. Robert Hopper of Orlando, Fla., as the speaker for the 2012 Baccalaureate ceremony. The ceremony will take place Friday, May 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the Sterling College campus.

This year about 250 volunteers signed up to complete 25 projects around town, donating over 1100 hours of service.

The summer of 2011 produced one of the worst droughts in Kansas since the 1930s and Sterling College Professor of Biology, Dr. Wai-Foong Hong, is using data from local farmers to study wheat production in drought conditions.
