Asbury University's Gary Kempf to Take Over as Sterling College's Athletic Director | February 9, 2011

STERLING, Kan. - Sterling College announced today that it has hired Gary Kempf as its athletic director. Mr. Kempf will begin his duties after the conclusion of the current academic year. Kempf currently serves as the athletic director at Asbury University, located in Wilmore, Kentucky. Asbury University is a well respected institution with an enrollment of 1607. Current Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Andy Lambert will continue to serve as athletic director until Kempf arrives on campus, at which time Lambert will once again focus solely on Sterling's football program.

For Sterling College student Matt Jaderston, his future is no longer a mystery as last month he found out he has been accepted into the United States Peace Corps. Jaderston is an English major from Sterling, Kan., and is the son of Dean and Julie Jaderston.

FRIENDS UNIVERSITY UPSETS WARRIORS IN WICHITA | February 5, 2011

Wichita, Kan. - In the KCAC, Wichita is always a difficult place to win on the road. That statement proved true on Saturday night as the Sterling College Warriors lost to the Friends University Falcons by a score of 67-76. Three point baskets and free throws were the determining factors in the game as Friends had a 12 point advantage from behind the three point arc and a seven point advantage from the foul line.

Wichita, Kan. - Sterling College basketball player Trent Stutzman has been named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Stutzman is a 6-0 junior guard for the Warriors from Hutchinson, Kansas. In two games this week, Stutzman scored 37 points (18.5 ppg), pulled down six rebounds (3.0 rpg), and shot nine for 13 from three point land for a 0.692 three point shooting percentage.

STERLING, Kan. - Sterling College Hall of Fame Member, former football coach, and former All-America football player Curt Bennett passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at the age of 75. Bennett served as the head football coach at Sterling College on three separate occasions and accumulated an overall record of 59-60-3 during his 13 year tenure. Curt currently holds the record at Sterling College for most football victories as a head coach. Current head coach Andy Lambert is second on the all-time wins list with 45 wins at Sterling.

GLEASON ROCKIN' AS WARRIORS MOVE INTO FIRST PLACE | January 27, 2011

Sterling, Kan.- The Gleason Center was rockin' as the Sterling College Warriors thumped the Tabor College Bluejays 86-68 in a game that moved Sterling into a first place tie atop the KCAC. The Warriors started off down by three points, but then went on a 15 to zero run to pounce on Tabor early. The was back and fourth in the first half, but SC would take over in the second half.

Sterling College Announces Fall Dean's List | January 26, 2011

Sterling College named 225 students to their Fall Dean's List. Criteria for the Dean's List include the completion of at least twelve graded credit hours and a semester GPA of 3.5 or better. Sterling College Online students must have completed at least ten credit hours.
