Defense Shines as Sterling Dismantles Saint Mary | December 11, 2010

Sterling, Kan. - Phenomenal defense was on display on Saturday night in the Gleason Center as the Sterling College Lady Warriors dismantled the University of Saint Mary Spires 72-43 in the final KCAC matchup before the Christmas Break. The win improves the Lady Warriors record in the KCAC to 4-0, good enough for a tie atop the conference with Kansas Wesleyan University.

Sterling, Kan. - Hot shooting by the University of Saint Mary doomed the Sterling College Warriors men's basketball team on Saturday night at the Gleason Center. Saint Mary hit 8 of 19 three point attempts for a total on 24 points on their way to a 63-53 victory over Sterling. The loss drops Sterling to 2-2 in the KCAC, one game out of first place.

Lindsborg, Kan. - With a 70-58 victory over the Bethany College Swedes in Lindsborg on Thursday night, the Sterling College Warriors improved to 2-1 in the KCAC, which puts them in a first place tie atop the conference. Sterling gave the Swedes their first KCAC loss of the season, dropping Bethany to 2-1 in the KCAC.

SC Debaters are Champions of the Winston Churchill | November 17, 2010

In 1946, the president of Westminster College sent an invitation to Winston Churchill via Harry Truman, asking him to make an appearance in Fulton, MO. Churchill not only accepted the invitation, but travelling by train along with President Harry Truman, he rode a train across the United States to reach the College. It was at that time and at that location that Churchill delivered perhaps his greatest oration, the "Iron Curtain" speech. The SC Debate team recreated the same trek, albeit by automobile, in accepting an invitation to appear and compete in a debate tournament to honor the legacy of Winston Churchill and his historic address 64 years ago.
