Summer term tuition break for Sterling College Online | January 29, 2014

Lowering tuition prices on online summer classes is causing students to take a second look at their summer plans. With over 60 percent off of the regular price, classes through Sterling College Online are $135 per credit hour for the summer 2014 sessions.

New faces on Sterling College campus | January 29, 2014

Sterling College is announcing the hires of five full-time employees to the staff and faculty. Jonathan Faulkner, Allen Jeter and Meredith O’Donnell joined the staff of Sterling College earlier this academic year, and Dr. Roy Millhouse and Dr. Jacob Shatzer begin teaching as faculty for the spring semester beginning this week.

Slone to open art show Jan. 30 | January 21, 2014

The first visiting artist of the 2014 spring semester, David Slone, opens his show on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 5-7 p.m. in the Sterling College Art and Media Center gallery. Slone, a lecturer in art for Sterling College and Sterling resident, will talk about developing the body of work at 5:30 p.m.

2013 Football All-Conference Awards Announced | January 14, 2014

The KCAC announced on Tuesday, November 19 the 2013 KCAC Football All-Conference Teams and Individual Award Winners. Coming off their historic 2013 season, the Warrior Football team has a clean sweep of the coaching staff of the year, one KCAC special team player of the year, and 17 players winning individual team awards.

Sterling College professor completes Ph.D. in Education | January 14, 2014

A good educator will teach their students how to think critically, but how to teach critical thinking skills is still a difficult topic for many educators. Spencer Wagley, associate professor of education at Sterling College, wrote his dissertation on this topic to successfully complete his Ph.D. in Education from Capella University. Sterling College hosts Robert Burns Night | January 7, 2014

Sterling College is welcoming back new and old acquaintances on Saturday, Jan. 25, for Robert Burns Night. Recognizing the achievements of Robert Burns, Scottish poet and songwriter, this event will be one of many similar events held around the world on Jan. 25 to celebrate Burns’s birthday. Tickets for the event, which includes a traditional Scottish meal, are available to the public for $18.

Coach Kruse to retire at the end of the season | December 16, 2013

Sterling's Women Basketball Head Coach Lonnie Kruse has announced that the 2013-2014 season will be his final season and he will retire from his position as the Head Coach of the Lady Warrior program. Kruse will retire as Sterling College's All-Time Wins Leader in Women's Basketball history and also the All-Time Wins Leader in College Women's Basketball in the state of Kansas. Education candidates take MTSS field trip | December 10, 2013

On Dec. 3, Sterling College teacher candidates in the elementary methods class took a field trip to West Elementary School in Valley Center, Kan., in order to learn more about the Multi-Tier System of Supports intervention program, or MTSS. This program is designed to support and respond to the behavioral and academic needs of each student in order to meet the standards set forth by the state of Kansas.

Ashley Hasart to perform senior vocal recital | December 4, 2013

Sterling College senior Ashley Hasart will be performing her senior vocal recital on Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Sterling United Presbyterian Church. The public is invited to attend the recital which will last for approximately one hour.
