Gasper Named KCAC Player of the Week
Wichita, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) has named Sterling College's Britany Gasper the KCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. During the week, Gasper averaged 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in Sterling's two KCAC contests. Sterling went 2-0 on the week and wrapped up their fifth straight KCAC Regular Season Championship.
In the first game of the week against Bethel College, Gasper scored 20 points, pulled down six rebounds, and dished out five assists. Gasper shot 7-15 from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Sterling won the game 78-48.
Against McPherson College, Gasper nearly had a double-double scoring 22 points and pulling down nine rebounds. In the game, Gasper was 10-11 from the free throw line. The Lady Warriors won the game 57-44.
Gasper is a senior forward from Tipton, Kansas. Britany ranks 30th in the NAIA in field goal percentage and 35th in the NAIA in free throw percentage. At Sterling, Gasper ranks 7th in career scoring and 9th in career rebounding.
The Lady Warriors will next be in action on Thursday at 7:00 pm in the Gleason Center as Sterling hosts Bethany College in the Quarter Final Round of the KCAC Basketball Tournament.
