Dodge City, Kan. – Both Sterling College Lady Warrior Golfers that competed in the Dodge City Invitational on Monday and Tuesday finished in the top 10. Katelynn Cantrell finished in 5th while Alexa Pelton finished in 7th. Sterling did not field enough golfers to score as a team.
Cantrell finished the tournament with a 182, shooting a 90 in the first round and a 92 in the second round. The 182 was one shot shy of being tied for 3rd and 12 shots shy of the winner.
McPherson, Kan. – The Sterling College Warrior Golf Team competed at the Central Christian Fall Invite in McPherson, Kansas on Monday and Tuesday, finishing with a final team score of 647. Sterling’s score was good enough for the team to finish seventh in the tournament out of ten teams. Stephen Austin was the only Warrior to finish in the top 15 out of the 53 golfer field. Austin finished in 11th.
Edmond, Okla. – Sterling College’s Alexa Pelton finished tenth at the Women’s Independent Conference Tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma on Monday and Tuesday with a two round total of 177. Also competing in the tournament for the Lady Warriors was Katelynn Cantrell, Cassie Spliess, and Katie McGrath. SC finished seventh in the final team standings.
Hutchinson, Kan. – Beautiful weather accompanied the Sterling College Warrior Golf Team to the Highlands Golf Course in Hutchinson for the Sterling Spring Invitational Golf Tournament. Ben Biederer was the top scorer for the Warrior Men in the tournament, finishing fourth in the tournament with a two round total of 151, three strokes back of the champion. As a team, SC finished in fourth with a team score of 641 behind Southwestern College, Bethel College, and Bethany College. Alexa Pelton and Katelynn Cantrell were the only two Lady Warriors to compete and finished tied with each other for fifth place on the women’s side.
Sterling, Kan. - The Sterling College Warrior golf team captured first place at their home tournament Monday and Tuesday, October 11-12 at Highlands Golf Club in Hutchinson, KS.
