SC Theatre Presents Cocktails with Mimi

The Sterling College Theatre Department presents Cocktails with Mimi at 8:00 p.m. on February 5 and 6, in Culbertson Auditorium on the SC campus.

Mimi Ralston, a rich socialite played by Kaedra Dixson of Atwood, Kan., is hosting a party to honor the stuffy parents of her daughter’s fiancé, and hires a waiter to insult them by spilling soup on the Calthorpes.

$1.75 Million Department of Education Grant Strengthens Sterling College

Sterling College announced it has completed a multifaceted 5-year enhancement effort made possible by a $1,754,675 U.S. Department of Education "Strengthening Institutions" development grant.
The grant funding, provided in annual amounts between 2004 and 2009, allowed Sterling College to institute a variety of upgrades and enhancements, including new campus technology, curriculum enhancements, faculty and staff professional development, student support resources, endowment enrichment and academic collaborations.

CATHRYN WIEBE NAMED KCAC "PLAYER OF THE WEEK"

Sterling College sophomore, Cathryn Wiebe, was named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference "Player of the Week" after helping lead the Lady Warriors to wins over Bethel College and McPherson College last week.
Wiebe, a 6'1 forward, averaged 24.5 ppg. and 11.0 rrg. in Sterling's two conference victories last week.

Record Enrollment for e.Sterling

Not only does e.Sterling help its students grow, it is growing itself. The online division of Sterling College reported a new record enrollment of 72 students this term, with 17 being new to the program. Though e.Sterling has continually grown since it began in 2007, this is its greatest-ever growth in new students.

Sterling College Education Majors Gain Real Experience

Sterling College education majors Adam Niedens, Kayla Stubby, and Rae Allman have learned an impressive amount about the country of China in the past week of their interterm class. Oddly enough, when these seniors are asked what they have gained from their course, China is not mentioned.
“I’m learning how much planning it takes to get ready for a lesson,” said Niedens.
“I’m learning how much time it takes students to complete tasks,” said Stubby.
