Sterling College History Professor Chad Gaudet Earns Doctorate in History

After studying the British, French and German soldiers of World War I for more than ten years and writing nearly 400 pages on the topic, Sterling College Assistant Professor Chad Gaudet has earned his Ph.D. in history from Bowling Green State University. The degree, however, which was made official in December and announced last week, only confirms the desire that made him pursue a doctorate in the first place: Dr. Chad Gaudet loves to learn.

Sterling College Art Center Hosts Exhibit Featuring Photographs of Lawn Art

Big Bird, monkeys, piglets, gargoyles, and the Virgin Mary-the subjects of Jeremie Riggleman's art are very eclectic, and his photographs of them are on display at the Sterling College Art Center. His solo exhibition, which came about through his connections with Sterling College Art Professor David Harmon, features photographs of lawn ornaments.

Mayor Carl Brewer to Speak at Sterling College

Sterling College is pleased to announce that the speaker for the annual Black History Month Convocation is Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer. The convocation will take place on Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium on the SC campus.

Sterling College Receives Legacy Gift to Fund Endowed Theatre Chair

Dr. Colin Bailey and his wife Joan Bailey have committed an irrevocable “legacy gift” in the amount of $1,000,000 to fund an Endowed Chair of Theatre at Sterling College. The endowed chair will bear the names of Gordon Kling and Diane DeFranco-Kling, who have taught in the College’s theatre department for a combined 81 years of service.

Sterling College Receives $50,000 Gift from Alumnus Jim Brackensick

Sterling College alumnus Jim Brackensick and his wife Cindy recently made a $50,000 donation to Sterling College. The funds will be used for the general scholarship fund, the stadium renovation project, and four named student scholarships.
