Sterling College senior Derrick Sullivan has been named this weeks NAIA and the Victory Sports Network Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Sterling’s 24-3 upset win over #13 Bethel College this past Saturday.
Another first for Sterling College happened last week – the first “Department of the Year” award. Sterling College Art & Design chair William Morse accepted the first "Department of the Year" award in a faculty reception last week. The new award is designed to recognize outstanding achievements in recruitment and retention along with improvements in an academic program. The award comes with a $1000 gift for the department.
It’s a record-breaking year for Sterling College. A total of 654 students have enrolled at Sterling College this fall making this the largest enrollment in the College’s 121 year history. Sterling has 30 more students than the second highest recorded enrollment the fall of 1968.
Latecomers to the Santa Fe Children’s Lit Festival were not a disruption; they were unnoticed. The students attending were already too engaged in what authors Alane Ferguson and Jane Kurtz were sharing.
Why would KCAC football be any different than the rest of the nation in a week where the nation’s top 25 teams took beatings at the hand of their underdog opponents. So be it with Saturday’s match-up where the #13 ranked Bethel College Threshers (2-0) took there first loss at the hands of the Warriors 24-3.
