Penner, Stuart Named Daktronics-NAIA Women's Track and Field Scholar Athletes

Sterling, Kan. – Sterling College runners Julie Penner and Jessica Stuart have been named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Women’s Track and Field Scholar Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Both Penner and Stuart are members of the 3200 meter relay team that is competing at the NAIA National Track and Field Meet in Indiana.

Stuart is a senior on the team and runs the third leg on the relay.

Penner, a junior, anchors the relay as the fourth leg.
