Scoring not a Problem as Lady Warriors Rattle Southwestern

Sterling, Kan. - Ball control and a strong offensive attack propelled the Lady Warriors over Southwestern College on Wednesday afternoon. Sterling used three second half goals to down the Lady Moundbuilders 4-0.

By controlling the ball and keeping play on the Southwestern side of the field, Ster

ling was able to limit Southwestern's chances in the game to only one shot, which was not on target. On the offensive end, the Lady Warriors put a shot on frame 13 times, scoring four in the lopsided victory.

Yesenia Garcia scored the first goal for Sterling in the 22nd minute of play, which was the lone first half goal. The Lady Warriors didn't find the back of the net again until the 63rd minute when Priscilla Coronado put a shot past Southwestern's keeper. Lacey Rhoads would add the third goal in the 72nd minute and Kylie Yates would finish off the match scoring with a goal in the 85th minute.

The victory improves the Lady Warriors' record to 6-4-1, 1-0-1 in the KCAC. On Saturday, the Lady Warriors will face Kansas Wesleyan University in a KCAC matchup at home. Game time is 10:00am.
