Sterling College Bookstore to Honor Students for Volunteerism

Thursday, October 6, 2011

The Sterling College Bookstore is going join over 500 nationwide college bookstores to participate in National Student Day, October 6, to celebrate and promote social responsibility and volunteerism by college students.

“We want to recognize students for the selfless acts they perform every day to improve our campus and surrounding communities,” said Debbie Station, bookstore manager.

Festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. giving free wristbands to the first 100 students to visit the bookstore. Students will also find free cookies and punch, 20% off purchases made that day, excluding textbooks, and free Sterling stickers. Students may also enter to win a Party Cube sound system for iPods and iPhones. For more information on what the bookstore has planned, contact Debbie Staton, at (620) 278-4223, dstaton@sterling.edu, or the bookstore website http://sterlingcollegebookstore.com/nastday.html.

National Student Day is sponsored by the National Association of College Stores, a professional trade association that represents more than 3,100 collegiate retailers and approximately 1,000 who supply books and other products to college stores.
