Top KCAC Teams Down Lady Warriors

Sterling, Kan. - The Sterling College Lady Warriors struggled this week against the top two teams in the KCAC in Kansas Wesleyan University and Ottawa University. Last Saturday, the Lady Warriors dropped an intense game to the Coyotes 3-0 and followed up with a loss on Wednesday to Ottawa also by a score of 3-0.

Against Kansas Wesleyan, SC was unable to put a shot on goal while facing 20 shots from Kansas Wesleyan. Keeper Paige Farmer had her work cut out for her in the match and was able to make five says while only allowing the three goals.

Sterling was more successful on Wednesday against Ottawa. In the match, the Lady Warriors managed ten shots with three of the shots finding the frame. On the counter side, Ottawa had 15 shots with seven finding the frame and three finding the net. Lacey Rhodes and Yesenia Garcia found the frame for the Warriors, but were unable to put any shots by Ottawa keeper Nichole Bishop.

With the two losses, SC falls to 1-2-1 in the KCAC and 6-6-1 overall. On Saturday, the Warriors will host Bethany College with a chance to start moving up the KCAC standings.
