Yates Leads Warriors to Victory over OCU

Sterling, Kan. - The Sterling College Lady Warrior Soccer Team upset Oklahoma Christian on Saturday with a 2-1 win at home during Warriorfest.

Sterling was put down early in the first half when Sarena Underwood of Oklahoma 

Christian put a goal past Sterling keeper Brittany Seiler in the tenth minute of play. The Warriors were unable to pull level in the first half and ended the half behind 1-0.

The second half was a different story as Sterling College senior Kylie Yates took control of the match. Yates scored two goals in the second half and the Warriors were able to pull out the come from behind victory.

"This is a very good win for us," said Coach Morris, "Our girls worked hard and earned a hard-fought victory."

Sterling will play again on Tuesday, September 14 at 5:00 pm at home against Southwestern Christian
