The Office of Gift Planning works in partnership with alumni and friends who are investigating supporting Sterling College through gifts that are given over time, or are designed to improve their financial position, while also helping the College. Led by Don Reed, the office will work with you to devise the most beneficial gift opportunity for you, your family and Sterling College. The Kelsey Society recognizes those who have made an estate plan or other deferred gift arrangement that will ultimately benefit the College.

Don began his career at Sterling College in 1974. He has served as Director of Public Relations, Director of Development, and 18 years as Vice President of Advancement. In 2006, Don left the Vice President's office to focus his work on gift and estate planning for the College, combining an in depth knowledge of gift planning with his deep commitment to the College and relationships with alumni and friends.

A 1968 graduate of Sterling, Don is married to Linda (Rodman '69). He has long-standing connections to Sterling as his grandmother, parents, and all three of his children and their spouses attended Sterling. Don is a former high school Debate, Speech & Theatre teach. He also served in the U.S. Navy with the Naval Security Group Command. A former Trustee of Geneva College (PA), Don is currently a member of the Board at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA.
