Dr. Laura Bateman
Laura Bateman will be teaching in the Music Department, focusing on vocal studies. Laura received her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance, with a minor in French, from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. She received a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO, and her Doctor of Arts degree in Voice Performance, with a secondary in Vocal Pedagogy, also from the University of Northern Colorado. She has previously taught as an adjunct professor at Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, FL and at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg College. During her time at the University of Northern Colorado, Laura enjoyed performing in several opera productions.
Having grown up as a missionary kid in Africa, Laura’s heart is also in missions and in learning about other cultures. She enjoys traveling overseas, drinking a good cup of strong coffee, taking walks and figuring out a good mystery.
