Lonnie Kruse
Lonnie (a.k.a. Coach Kruse) serves as the Head Women's Basketball Coach here at Sterling College, a place that he finds to be very familiar. Lonnie enjoyed the school and community of Sterling College when he was a student here and he still feels that the Christian environment is important to his family. He finds the uniqueness of Sterling to be a highlight-Sterling is a true Christian college and the community provides a one of a kind support. Lonnie is married to his wife, Carol, and has 4 daughters, and 7 grandchildren. He was born in Ellsworth, Kansas. Lonnie played basketball her at Sterling in 1967 until 1971, where he also was on the track team. Lonnie's coaching experience consists of Norton High School (1972 - 1974) as the Boy's Head Basketball coach, coaching at South Barber High School (1974 - 1981) as the Boy's Head basketball coach, and now at Sterling College where he has been the Women's Head Coach since 1982.
