Warriors Travel to Denver, Lose to Johnson and Wales
Denver, Colo. - After a strong first half, the Sterling College Warriors men's basketball team was unable come away with a road victory in Denver, Colorado against Johnson and Wales University. Johnson and Wales defeated Sterling 78-64, handing Sterling their second straight loss.
Sterling played well in the first half, but was unable to build a lead larger than five
points. Cody Brazelton had nine points for Sterling in the first half. Raheem Odomes had five rebounds while Zach Goodrich dished out three assists. At the
half, Sterling led 31-28.
With 14:02 remaining in the second half, Johnson and Wales took the lead and would not relinquish that lead. Johnson and Wales would get hot, scoring 44 points during the final 14 minutes. The Warriors would be unable to comeback and the final score was 78-64.
Brazelton led the Warriors in scoring with 19 points and had five rebounds. Odomes scored 11 points and led the Warriors in rebounding with seven rebounds. The last Warrior in double digit scoring was Goodrich with ten points.
Johnson and Wales was led in scoring by Nic Maly, who had 23 points. Jake Campbell added 17 points.
With the loss, Sterling drops to 4-8 on the year. The Warriors' next game will be on December 31 when they travel to the Tabor Classic to take on Graceland University at 4:00pm.
