Offense wins games. Defense wins championships. On Monday night at Hartman Arena in Park City, Kan., defense won a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship for the Sterling College Lady Warriors.
Sterling, Kan. – Sterling College Women’s Basketball Coach Kruse has been named the 2011 Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA) Four Year College Women’s Coach of the Year. Kruse will be honored in front of the KBCA reception on August 4th at Washburn University during the KBCA All-Star Game Festivities.
Kansas City, Kan. - Three Lady Warriors have been named 2011Daktronics-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Scholar Athletes. Megan Patrick, Kelly Curtis, and Julie Penner all earned the honor in 2011. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
Kansas City, Kan. - Sterling College's Britany Gasper has been named to the 2011 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball All-America Second Team for the first time. The NAIA announced the All-America Teams this afternoon on the NAIA website. Gasper finished her playing career for Sterling this season.
