Professor Honored at Art Exhibit

William Morse, Chair of the Art and Design Department at Sterling College, has had two pieces of his work chosen in a very competitive juried art exhibit at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: “New River Gorge Bridge,” a photography piece, and “Tug Maryland,” a painting. The exhibit will be on display until March 28, 2009.

Men's Basketball draws Northwood (FL) in first round of NAIA Tournament

The Sterling College men’s Basketball team will face Northwood University (FL) on Thursday March 12th, at 5:45p.m. in the first round of the NAIA Division II National Tournament at the Keeter Gymnasium in Point Lookout, Missouri.

Sterling College Women to face Holy Names in first round of the NAIA Tournament

Sterling, KS. - The Sterling College Women’s Basketball team will face Holy Names on Thursday March 12th at 8:45 p.m. in the first round of the NAIA Women’s Division II National Tournament at the Tyson Event’s Center in Sioux City, Iowa
Holy Names, a member of the California Pacific Conference, received the automatic bid for winning the CPC Tournament championship. The Hawks won the CPC regular season championship posting a 15-1 record.

Lincoln Art Center Exhibit Features the Work of Sterling College Art Professors

A new exhibit, titled “A Sterling Approach,” opens at the Lincoln Art Center in Lincoln, Kansas, this Friday, March 13. This free exhibit features the work of Sterling College art professors David Harmon and Joe Jacob, and Sterling resident Susan Harmon.

For the tenth time in the illustrious history of the Sterling College women’s basketball program, the Lady Warriors won their opening round game at the NAIA Division II national tournament with a high scoring 93-72 victory over Holy Names University (CA).

Sterling drops second round game to defending NAIA Division II national champions Northwestern College

After scoring 93 points in their opener at the NAIA Division II national tournament the Sterling College Lady Warriors struggled offensively in their second round game versus Northwestern College (IA) and had no answer for NWC guards Becca Hurley (24 points) and Kami Kuhlmann (22 points) who combined for 64% of the Red Raiders 72 points in the contest. The victory was Northwestern’s seventh straight victory at the NAIA Division II national tournament.
