Wichita, Kan. - Sterling College senior Zach Goodrich has been named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 10-16. In two games during the week, Goodrich averaged
18.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg, had six assists, and stole the ball eight times. Sterling was 2-0 on the week with victories over Ottawa University and Bethel College.
Against Ottawa, Goodrich recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 r
ebounds in the 75-55 win. Goodrich also dished out three assists and had two steals. The victory, combined with losses for other teams in the KCAC, maneuvered Sterling into a five way tie for first place in the KCAC at the time.
On Saturday against Bethel, Goodrich scored 20 points in a narrow 10 point victory. Zach also had one rebound, three assists, and six steals in the game. Currently, Sterling is in a three way tie for first in the KCAC with Tabor College and the University of Saint Mary.
Zach is a 5-7 senior guard from Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Sterling's next game will be on Wednesday, January 19 when the Warriors travel to McPherson to take on the Bulldogs. Game time is 8:00 pm.
