Sterling Edges Past Huntington With Solid Free-Throw Shooting

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - (Box Score) Sterling (Kan.) overcame a minimal 33 field-goal percentage to edge Huntington (Ind.) 61-52 in first-round action Thursday at the 19th Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena.

The Chicago Tribune called jazz artist Kathy Kosins, “One of the most alluring voices in Jazz,” the International Association of Jazz Educators ranked her in the top six performers of 2005, and Chris DiGirolamo of “Inside Connection,” wrote of her, “If Jazz had four seasons, Kathy Kosins would be spring.”

And on March 29-30 she will be at Sterling College.

Sterling College Students Prepare for Mission Trip wit Coffeehouse Music Work

On February 27 visitors at Metropolitan Coffee in Hutchinson sipped beverages, enjoyed live music, and supported the Sterling College mission trip to Asia with every purchase and tip they made. It was all part of an arrangement Metro Coffee owners Jim and Myra Kitson had made with mission team member Tillie Wilbeck: if the SC students provided the music for the evening, a portion of the proceeds and all the tips would be given toward the trip.

Sterling College Theatre Alumni Succeed in Graduate Programs

Ask Sterling College alumni Megan Baker ‘06 and Jean Bosch ’09 if they have finished learning about their profession, and the answer from both would be an emphatic “no!” The two theatre majors are pursuing Masters of Arts degrees—Baker at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Theatre History and Dramaturgy and Bosch at the University of Kansas in Theatre—and they plan to pursue further degrees following the completion of their current programs.
