The Capital Campaign for Sterling College

Friends, family, alumni and supporters of Sterling College gathered together to dedicate the Gleason Center Expansion on the Sterling College campus on Oct. 16. The short, socially-distanced program included a time of reflection for those who made possible the expansion as well as a prayer of dedication for the new facility.  Click here to view images of SterlingNOW’s progress.

SterlingNOW is our largest and most ambitious campaign ever. It will provide our students, faculty and staff with facilities and resources that match the excellence of our programs, and it will attract and retain students who desire a discernibly different education.
Imagine what we can accomplish together for God’s Kingdom in this effort!

“Sterling College is special to me because the people here care so deeply about everyone. All the new opportunities this campaign will bring will prepare students for the next step, from going to graduate school to being well-prepared for their vocation.”
Dr. Pete Manely
Dr. Pete ManelyProfessor of Athletic Training
“We are different. We teach students how to be servant leaders, to walk in their faith and use the field of athletic training as their ministry. We teach students to care not only for the patient physically but also for them spiritually.”

UPGRADE OUR SCIENCE AND ACADEMIC FACILITIES

Zaid-West Science and Research Center will offer the latest resources for our science programs. All students will take classes in this building through our Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. This facility will increase our capacity for new instructional techniques; offer flexible-use labs, classrooms and state-of-the-art equipment; and give our students the training they need to succeed in a globally competitive workplace.
“We have a long-standing tradition of excellence in our science program, spanning many generations. This campaign will provide outstanding experiences for our students and better equip them for the future.”
– Dr. Jonathan Conard, Associate Professor of Biology
Thompson Hall will look and feel like a brand new building with a complete interior renovation, exterior upgrades, addition of an elevator, technology improvements and a spacious glass lobby. Renovated into flexible-use classrooms and faculty offices, Thompson Hall will provide a rich learning environment that reflects changes in higher education delivery.

EXPAND THE GLEASON PHYSICAL EDUCATION CENTER

Our current space is bursting at the seams. The College has been as resourceful as possible with existing space, but we need additional and improved spaces to compete – both academically and athletically – to attract and retain students and faculty.
“[Athletic Training] is in the field of medicine, and it’s not going to go away. Athletic medical needs are always going to be with us, and they’re growing vastly. We have an outstanding faculty to begin this [masters degree], and that is going to be a future hallmark program.”
– Don Reed, Board Trustee Member
The Gleason Center is the front door of Sterling College for many prospective students, visitors and fans and will become the home to Sterling’s first two master’s degree programs. The creation of a Center for Health Sciences will distinguish Sterling and attract students interested in the growing health science industry. An auxiliary gym will aid class and practice schedules and expand camps, intramurals and indoor winter activity for the College and the community.
