Dr. Amanda Burkhart

Amanda Burkhart joined Sterling College in the fall of 2018, where she brings a wealth of experience and passion for athletic training. Hailing from Larned, Kansas, Amanda embarked on her journey in higher education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Fort Hays State University. She continued her academic pursuits at Fort Hays, earning a Master of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance. In 2024, Amanda completed her PhD in Health Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She is an Assistant Professor of Athletic Training and Clinical Education Coordinator for the Graduate Athletic Training Program. Her research interests include faculty mentorship, transitioning from clinical practice to faculty, and adult pedagogy. Amanda enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading books, and watching sports. She resides in the area with her husband, Zach, and son, Emmett.
