Chad Johnson named KCAC Baseball “Player of the Week”
Chad Johnson, 6-0, Sophomore, catcher from Tehachapi, CA., was named this week’s KCAC Baseball “Player of the week” for his outstanding performance as the Warriors went 3-2.
Against Newman University, Johnson had five at bats, getting three hits and two runs. On Friday, against Ottawa University, Johnson had four at bats, two hits, one run one double and one RBI as the Warriors beat OU 11-3. In third game of the series against the Braves, Chad had three at bats, two hits, three runs, one double, three RBI’s and one walk. The Warriors run ruled the Ottawa 16-2. In game four, the Warriors won 2-0 with Johnson getting on off a walk.
Sterling (17-11) stands alone at the top of the KCAC at 7-1 with a series sweep over Bethany and Ottawa University. The Warriors travel to Oklahoma Baptist today for a two game set with the Bison. The Warriors then they travel to Friends University on Friday, before returning to home on Saturday to finish the series with the Falcons.
