2014 Sterling College Commencement
& Baccalaureate Celebration Ceremonies

Baccalaureate will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall.

Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 beginning at 9:45 a.m. on the East Cooper Lawn of the campus.  

General Information for Students:

Ø  During the week of May 12-15, you may pick up your cap and gown (which you may keep) at the Registrar’s Office.  Your $100 graduation fee must be paid to the Financial Services Office, and you must show your receipt before you can receive your cap and gown.  Please return the attached Graduate Information Form and Career Questionnaire when you pick up your cap and gown. These forms must be received for you to get your cap/gown.

Ø  The Sterling College Alumni Council will host a breakfast again this year for graduating seniors only on Friday, May 16 at 9:30 a.m.  You will receive information from the Alumni Director next month. Immediately following the breakfast, please go to the steps on the east side of Cooper for your senior group picture.  Immediately following the picture, you should go to Culbertson Auditorium for instructions and rehearsal for Baccalaureate and Commencement.  

Ø  The President will host a family dinner for you and your parents and/or spouse on Friday, May 16, from 5-7 pm in the West Cafeteria of the Student Union.  Your other guests may attend the dinner for a reasonable charge.  You will be receiving an invitation from their office later with more details about this special event.

Ø  For Baccalaureate on Friday, May 16, assemble (robed) in front of Wilson by 7:10 p.m. for the short procession to Culbertson.  In case of heavy rain, assemble in the south hall at Spencer.  

Ø  Immediately following Baccalaureate there will be a reception for you on the south side of Spencer Hall. In case of heavy rain, the reception will be held in Upper Wilson.

Ø  For Commencement on Saturday, May 17, assemble (robed) in the Student Union no later than 9:30 a.m. for the walk to the East lawn of Cooper Hall in procession.  The procession starts at 9:45 a.m. sharp! Please notify your guests who plan to attend that they should be seated by 9:45 a.m.  (In case of rain, Commencement will be held at the Gleason Athletic Center located just west of the stadium).

Graduating seniors will receive additional information the week of April 28.
