Volleyball falls to Friends in KCAC Tournament
The Sterling College volleyball team came up short in their quest for their first KCAC title in over twelve years. Sterling who a year ago finished the season with an 8-25 record has made one of biggest turnaround seasons in school history to finish in third place under first year Head Coach Jenny Ellis.
Sterling entered the tournament on Tuesday and beat Bethany College 3-1 and advanced to the semifinals to faced Friends University. Sterling entered the match with much confidence and played to the Falcons very tight losing the first match 23-25, winning the second 25-22, before falling 24-26 and 15-25. Friends advances to the championship game to face Bethel College who upset 2009 KCAC Champion Tabor College 3-0.
Sterling finishes the season with a 19-11 overall record and 13-5 mark in the KCAC.
