FAQs
What roles are available in Ministry Teams?
SC Ministry Teams have a plethora of roles available. Some team members will be using their musical gifting while others will use their oral interpretation skills and others will get to exercise their abilities to connect with others by crafting messages to reach children and youth in the local church and school. There are not a set number of specific roles, but we would like to have the team be made of students with talents in any of these areas: photography, graphic design, hospitality, singing, worship leading, theatre arts and oral communication. If a student has a gift that is not listed here but would be interested in participating in Ministry Teams, please contact Jenny Lane, Director of Ministry Teams, jlane@sterling.edu.
Do I have to be a Theology/Ministry or Music major to be a part of SC’s Ministry Teams?
We welcome students in any academic department to pursue interest in being involved in the Sterling College Ministry Teams.
What scholarships are available for Ministry Team Members?
Ministry Team Members will be given a scholarship towards their tuition.
What are the schedule expectations for Ministry Team Members?
Once the team is selected for this academic year, 2012-2013, members will be expected to participate in regular rehearsal and team building times. The specific schedule will be discussed and decided upon as a team this year. In coming years, the team rehearsal schedule will be set before the academic year begins. Team Members should also expect to travel to area churches to lead ministry for children’s, youth and adult services on Wednesday nights and/or Sunday mornings at least once a month during Spring 2013 as well as occasional daytime outings to nearby private schools.
I am a leader at a church or school and am interested in having your Ministry Teams here, who do I contact?
We'll be glad to connect with you about our Ministry Teams opportunities! Please email our Director, Jenny Lane, jlane@sterling.edu.
