2021 Commencement Ceremony moved indoors to Gleason Center

Due to the possibility of inclement weather on the morning of Saturday, May 15,  the 2021 Sterling College Commencement ceremony will be held indoors. The event will be held at the Gleason Center on Lonnie Kruse Court. To accommodate the number of graduates and their guests, three ceremonies will be held. Please read below for details regarding these ceremonies.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GRADUATES AND FAMILIES

 

1.     The ceremony will be divided into three parts:

a.     9:45 a.m. Ceremony: Class of 2020 and Masters of 2021 Ceremony

·  2020 Bachelor of Arts Graduates

·  2020 Bachelor of Science Graduates

·  2020 Master of Art Graduates

·  2020 Master of Science Graduates

·  2021 Master of Arts Candidates

·  2021 Master of Science Candidates

b.     10:45 a.m. Ceremony: 2021 Bachelors Group 1

·  2021 Bachelor of Arts Candidates – ALL Candidates

·  2021 Bachelor of Science Candidates, Last names beginning with A-H.

c.      11:45 a.m. Ceremony: 2021 Bachelors Group 2

·  2021 Bachelor of Science Graduates, Last names beginning with I-Z.

2.     There is no restriction on the number of guests per graduate.

3.     Each ceremony will last approximately 45 minutes. After the ceremony ends, guests will be asked to leave the gymnasium promptly to stay on schedule for the next group entering the facility.

4.     Guests for the 9:45 a.m. ceremony may enter through the Gleason Center Lobby and proceed to Lonnie Kruse Court.

5.     Guests for the 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. ceremonies may enter Gleason through the north entrance and are asked to congregate in Wilkey Fieldhouse. To enter Wilkey Fieldhouse, follow the sidewalk to the north side of Gleason and enter the building through the north doors. College personnel will be directing guests to this location. Limited seating will be provided here. Once the gym has been cleared of guests for the 9:45 a.m. ceremony, guests for the 10:45 a.m. ceremony will be allowed to enter Kruse Court. This process will be repeated for the 11:45 a.m. ceremony.

6.     Graduates need to be in the Gleason Weight Room 30 minutes prior to their individual ceremony to lineup for the procession.
