Assistant Professor Doug Boardman was recognized for his research and writing on the Pancho Villa raid that occurred in 1916 by having an article published in the International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (IJHSS).

Boardman’s paper titled, “Kansas Press Coverage of the Pancho Villa Raid on Columbus, New Mexico, March 9, 1916,” can be found in the November 2011 issue.

The IJHSS is an international magazine that promotes interdisciplinary studies in humanities and social sciences. Boardman submitted his article to the peer-reviewed journal knowing that he would be competing with professors from across the globe to be added to the periodical’s content.

“It was an honor to be chosen,” said Boardman. “It’s always nice to have your work recognized by your peers.”

Boardman is the department chair of history and government at Sterling College.
