Although it will be a few days after Valentine’s Day, many Sterling College Music Theatre students along with their director Marisa Callan will carry the sprit of the holiday through a special performance Sunday, February 18. “Broadway Romance: A Cabaret of Love Songs” will be presented in Upper Wilson Hall on the Sterling College campus that night at 7:30 pm.

Sixteen Sterling College students and three guests will perform songs from such classic musicals as “Pajama Game,” “South Pacific,” and “Phantom of the Opera” to contemporary shows such as “Bridges of Madison County,” “Big Fish,” and “Hamilton.” There are 11 solos on the bill including “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from “Grease” and “Someday” from “The Wedding Singer.” There will be six duet numbers that night including “Beauty and the Beast” and “Two of a Kind.”

Soloists include Makenzy Carter, Copper Collins, Keeley Coon, Sophia Godfrey, Luke Harding, Kurt Keegan, Mary Little, Josh Morris, Morgan Pellegrino, Noah Svaty, and Rachel Thomson. Additional performers doing duets include Bryson Brownlee, Lily Stansbury, Natalie Schweizer, Katie Lumbert, Caleb Brownlee along with guests Bryce Wilson, Larry Brownlee, and Amy Brownlee.

There will also be desserts available at the event. Although there will be no admission charged for “Broadway Romance: A Cabaret of Love Songs” donations to benefit the Sterling College Music Theatre program will be accepted.
