Glasgow receives 2023 McCreery Teaching Award - Sterling College

Dr. Nicole Glasgow, assistant professor of athletic training at Sterling College, was given The William M. McCreery Teaching Award as part of the College’s Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 6, 2023. The award recognizes and encourages excellence in teaching and is presented to a faculty member whose efforts have provided noteworthy and innovative instruction to Sterling College students during the academic year. The award was established in honor of Sterling College’s fourth president, William M. McCreery, and has been awarded to one outstanding faculty member each year since 1977.

Glasgow has taught at Sterling College for eleven years and also serves as the College’s director for the integration of faith and learning.

Glasgow is described by faculty saying, as “an outstanding recipient of the McCreery award due to her commitment and drive for excellence.  She has served the college through multiple committee roles, including her work with the integration of faith and learning.  Her leadership, effectiveness, and innovative teaching techniques are evident in the continued success of her students.” Another comment from a peer stated, “Dr. Glasgow is an essential part of Sterling College, and we are blessed by her passion and continued leadership, while providing our students with a worldly and Godly education.”

Glasgow was described by a student who commented “Nicole is a teacher that pushes us to be our best.  She doesn’t allow us to settle for anything less and is a big reason why we will leave this institution prepared and ready to be the best we can be.  She inspires us, encourages us to constantly seek improvement, and her faith seeps into every aspect of her life.”
