Sterling College has named Dr. Erin Laudermilk as provost of the College. In this role, Laudermilk will serve as the senior academic officer of the College and a member of the President’s Cabinet. She will start in this role beginning on July 1.

“We are delighted to announce Dr. Erin Laudermilk as our new provost. Dr. Laudermilk brings exceptional gifts to Sterling College, and I am confident she will continue to serve our students, faculty, and mission with both excellence and deep conviction. Her experience and dedication to Christian higher education will serve the College well in this role. We are truly blessed to have her join our senior leadership team,” said Scott Rich, president.

Laudermilk currently serves as associate vice president for academic affairs at Sterling College, a position she has held since 2018, and is a professor of athletic training. Previous to that, she served Sterling as a faculty member and clinical education coordinator for the Athletic Training program. She was named to the Kansas Independent College Association Faculty of Distinction in 2014. She also received Sterling College’s McCreery Teaching award in 2014. Additionally, she was the winner of the College’s Outstanding Staff Award in 2024.

“Having served this college community since 2007, I am deeply honored to step into the role of provost. This institution has shaped my professional life in countless ways and in reflection, it is amazing to see all the ways that God has been shaping me for this role. I look forward to working with our amazing faculty, staff, and students in an expanded role as we work together to fulfill the mission of this institution. My family calls this community home and we look forward to continuing that for years to come,” said Laudermilk.

She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Northcentral University, an M.S. in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a B.S. in Biology from Saint Joseph's College. She has worked at Sterling College since 2007.
