Sterling College Department of Music ends year with Masterworks and Wind Ensemble Concert

On Sunday, May 1, 2016, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Sterling United Presbyterian Church, the Sterling College choir groups will perform their annual Masterworks Concert. The Wind Ensemble will perform at 7 p.m. on May 2 at the Sterling United Presbyterian Church.

The Highland Singers, Chorale and Concert Choir will perform a variation of songs inspired by verses as well as a series of short songs based off of the poems of Hila Plittman. Soloists for the performances include Abbey Pickering, Elijah Klein, Jordan Himes, Micah Watney, Kalie King, Alecia Clay, Alyssa Hershey, Cassidy Woodard, Chris Green and Claire Zerull. The concert is free and will last approximately an hour.

The Wind Ensemble will feature songs popularized in Broadway musicals such as “The Music Man,” “Mary Poppins,” “The Sound of Music” and others. The ensemble will also play a section of patriotic music during the concert, which is free and open to the public.
