Sterling College will host its annual Spiritual Emphasis Week September 8-12, with a focus on “The Power of Your Story.” Throughout the week, students, faculty, and staff will participate in a series of gatherings designed to encourage spiritual reflection, community connection, and testimony sharing.

“As Christ-followers, we have experienced the transforming power of His grace that redeems us into new life in Christ. Every person who has come to saving faith in Christ carries a powerful testimony. We were once dead in our trespasses, but now we are made new because of Christ. We each have stories and experiences of what God has done in our lives, and sharing your story can have a profound impact on the lives of others, ” said Jose Carrillo, campus pastor.

This week will feature a Chapel message on Wednesday, September 10, from David Landis ’88, superintendent of schools at Central Christian Academy in Wichita.

The College will also host two featured noon gatherings in the Cornerstone Room of the Student Union, each offering an opportunity to hear personal faith journeys from various members of the campus community.

On Tuesday, September 9, attendees will hear testimonies from Dr. Shebuel Varghese, assistant professor of theology & ministry and others. Then on Thursday, September 11, the College will welcome testimony speakers Laurel Watney, director of Mabee Library, and others.

Sterling College encourages students, faculty, and staff to attend these sessions and engage with the theme of Spiritual Emphasis Week by reflecting on their own personal testimonies and the impact of their faith journey.
