Friday, July 24, 2015

The Ross and Fern Freeman Lecture Series for Servant Leadership will host Nancy Ortberg, director of leadership development at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, October 30 at 10 a.m. on the campus of Sterling College. The event, held in Culbertson Auditorium, seeks to educate individuals on the various values and applications of leadership by highlighting the servant leadership attributes present in others.

In addition to her work at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, Ortberg is a leadership consultant and founding partner of Teamworx2, a company that specializes in organizational effectiveness and teamwork. She has authored “Seeing in the Dark: Finding God’s Light in the Most Unexpected Places” and “Unleashing the Power of Rubber Bands, Lessons in Non-Linear Leadership.”

The Freeman Lecture Series was developed as part of the institution’s strategic plan to develop its academic program. This included enriching the student experience by implanting a lecture series. Ross and Fern Freeman of Topeka, Kansas, supported this endeavor by funding the leadership series.
