Monday, October 16, 2017

Only 92 schools in the Midwest were named to the 2018 U.S. News & World Report list for Best Regional Colleges, and Sterling College received such recognition. The Sterling College Online Learning program was named to the 2018 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs as well.

“It is always an honor to be recognized by outside institutions for our hard work and dedication to our students,” said Dr. Scott Rich, president of the College. “U.S. News & World Report has repeatedly named both our traditional student program and our online program as best options. Our faculty and staff make this award possible and I’m proud of the education and experience our students receive on the Sterling College campus.”

According to U.S. News, rankings are based on several key measures of quality, including graduation and retention rates, assessment of excellence, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving.

More than 1,275 schools were surveyed for statistical data used to determine the rankings and some additionally needed data was obtained through the National Center for Education Statistics. Information on financial resources, faculty, SAT and ACT scores, acceptance rates, six-year graduation rates and first-year retention rates were all considered, according to U.S. News.
