Sterling College Online Learning has announced it is offering a bachelor’s degree in Christian Thought starting this fall. Sterling’s undergraduate online tuition rate is $145 per credit hour for the 2020-21 academic year. The online rate makes Sterling one of the lowest online tuition prices in the state of Kansas and across the nation. The new program begins with the Fall I semester, which starts on Wednesday, August 26. Students who wish to learn more can do so by visiting www.online.sterling.edu/christian-thought

“We are extremely excited to now offer our Christian Thought degree program virtually for those that cannot attend face-to-face on the Sterling College Campus. The bachelor’s degree opens new doors to online students who wish to pursue a degree within the field of Theology and Ministry, paired with one of the lowest online tuition rates in the country, as well as intertwining that experience within a Christian worldview,” said Dr. Ken Brown, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the College. 

Sterling’s new program in Christian Thought features a core curriculum of 55 credit hours and an additional 18 credit hours in Biblical Studies and/or Christian Ministry The program features classes including Basic Christian Philosophy, Hermeneutics, Homiletics, Historical Theology, Spiritual and Vocational Formation, Contemporary Christian Thought and more. 

“With all of the chaos in the world today, we need Christians who can address issues large and small from a clear Christian perspective. Our new Christian Thought degree is designed to meet this need. Tailored as an ideal double major or strong as a stand-alone degree, Christian Thought equips majors and minors to impact the world for Christ,” said Dr. Roy Millhouse, assistant professor of biblical studies and chair of the theology and ministry department.

Accredited online programs include bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Christian Thought, Criminal Justice Administration, Elementary Education, History, Organizational Management, Sports Management and Pre-professional Studies Secondary Education. The classes are on a seven-week rotation. There are six sessions available each school year, and financial aid is available for those that qualify.
