Sterling College to host event featuring new C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien Documentary Series
Sterling College is honored to welcome the Eastgate Creative production team for a special preview of their highly anticipated documentary series, The Forge of Friendship, on Tuesday, February 3, at 7 p.m., in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
“In a world where friendship is longed for but so often not found, in a city where friendship is so readily offered, and at Sterling College where friendship and fellowship is palpable, we are thrilled to be hosting this preview of a new and exciting documentary. As a new C.S. Lewis Center, we are delighted to continue to bring exciting C.S. Lewis events to Sterling which are open to all in the community,” said Dr. Sarah Waters, director of the C.S. Lewis Center.
The event will feature the debut screening of the official trailer, several extended scenes from the documentary, and a live Q&A with members of the filmmaking team. Attendees will learn about the purpose and process behind the production, the relevance of Lewis and Tolkien’s friendship in today’s divided culture, and the importance of cultivating authentic relationships in an increasingly digital world.
The Eastgate Creative team is currently touring select colleges and universities to preview the project and connect with audiences interested in literature, theology, film, and faith-based storytelling. Previous stops on the tour have included California Baptist University and Great Lakes Christian College, among others.
