It is with deep sadness that Sterling College announces the passing of Vicky Kirchoff, a beloved and longstanding member of the SC Maintenance Department, who entered the gates of heaven this past Saturday.

“For the past 34 years, Vicky was the steady heartbeat behind so much of the day-to-day housekeeping and logistics of our campus,” said Justin Morris, vice president for athletics and facilities. “Vicky had an incredible gift for logistics, ensuring that things moved in the right direction, often before the rest of us even realized what was needed. Her ability to bring order to everything around her—from ordering supplies and dispatching work tickets to organizing campus transportation, guest services, and countless unseen tasks was essential to keeping Sterling College running smoothly for many years. She touched every corner of this campus quietly, faithfully, and with unwavering dedication.”

Vicky’s servant heart, sense of humor, and her deep love for Sterling College and the Warriors will be profoundly missed by all who worked alongside her.

“Vicky possessed a winsome can-do attitude that permeated each moment of her workday.  Her quiet spirit spoke loudly, and her service in pursuit of the mission of Sterling College was nothing less than complete devotion,” said Dr. Scott Rich, president.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held in Sterling later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Birzer Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses, a headstone, and other related costs.

Sterling College will honor Vicky with a moment of prayer and reflection at the beginning of chapel this Wednesday, January 28th. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and the entire campus community as we grieve this unexpected loss.
