Sterling College student Camden Carr, a health science major from Newton, has been named a 2025 Maud Wyatt Recognition Scholarship recipient by the Kansas Independent College Association (KICA). Carr is one of only 18 students across the state of Kansas selected for this honor.

“Camden has consistently proven himself to be a model student and a great example of authentic servant leadership in and out of the classroom. As a student and campus leader, he has developed an important set of leadership qualities that have formed him into a vibrant young man with a very bright future,” said Dr. Scott Rich, president of Sterling College.

The Maud Wyatt Recognition Scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students at KICA member institutions who are nearing graduation and have demonstrated excellence in academics, character, and integrity. Each recipient holds a GPA of 3.5 or higher and has contributed meaningfully to their campus community.

The scholarship was established in 1995 through the generosity of Maud Wyatt, whose bequest has supported the work of KICA and its institutions since 1961. The Kansas Independent College Association seeks to develop, promote, and direct unified approaches to selected corporations, foundations, and individuals for financial support of Kansas’ independent colleges and universities.

Located in Topeka, the Kansas Independent College Association is a 501(c)3 that develops and enhances the competitive standing of its 21-member independent, non-profit, regionally accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities and strives to assure opportunities and choice in higher education for all students.
