Mark Alan Hemphill of Florence, Arizona, will perform his senior recital at the United Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5. The public is invited to attend.

Hemphill will sing in French, Italian, German and English, featuring duets with several other people including Dr. Laura Bateman, assistant professor of music. He will also sing an arrangement of Morten Lauridsen’s “Sure on this Shining Night” and musical theatre selections.

The spring Honors Convocation took place in Culbertson Auditorium on Friday, April 24. Recipients of scholarships are as follows:

Emily Allen – Charles and Opal Hall Memorial Chemistry Scholarship, Sterling College Notable Alumni Scholarship

Tiffany Barnett – Eva E. Lewis Scholarship

Isaac Barnhart – Clair and Clara Jean Gleason Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Bryce Bassett – Mike Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship

Jedidiah Beachy – George Simpson Endowed Memorial Scholarship
